Destination Wedding and Honeymoon Planning

honeymoon outletDestination weddings are currently one of the most popular trends to-date with some 200,000 American couples, approximately one in every 10, exchanging vows and celebrating with friends and family in a picturesque location away from home. This growing trend is due largely in part to the high costs of formal weddings plus couples don't always have the time to plan such a large-scale wedding.

But to ensure a destination wedding is one to remember without busting their budget, more couples are turning to Web sites like HoneymoonOutlet.com to help them save time and money. Honeymoon Outlet features value-filled destination wedding recommendations for every lifestyle and budget. Today's hot spots include Las Vegas, Hawaii, Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, and on board cruise ships.

Honeymoon Outlet's Destination Wedding Concierges offer personalized service, helping couples to plan all of the details, and negotiate group rates at resorts and group airfare for 10 or more people traveling together.

Once a destination has been selected, a top priority will be to understand the legal requirements for getting married outside of the United States. Honeymoon Outlet's Destination Wedding Concierges consult with destination managers and consulates and often has the clients speak directly to the authorities so that they are very clear on regulations.

Carol Lekki is the Chief Destination Wedding Concierge with Honeymoon Outlet and is often told by brides-to-be that finding a company to plan destination weddings is difficult and overwhelming. Carol Lekki and her team of destination planners will help you get it done easy.

Titanium Wedding Bands

titanium wedding bandAs time goes on and trends come and go, many ideas and products are discovered and are soon forgotten. The pet rock, beanie babies, and many other trends are no stranger to this idea that maybe life only gives us our fifteen minutes of fame. Much of this is decided amongst buyers and what the current celebrity is wearing or eating at that particular time. Once in a while though, we see trends that do stay with us and continue to evolve into products that will last a lifetime.

The jewelry world has seen its fair share of product lines over the past few decades with the traditional gold and silver markets staying strong. Platinum has arrived into the scene with all the biggest rap stars flaunting medallions and other outrageous pieces made of platinum and diamonds. Much like the Beanie Baby or Pet Rock, Platinum seems to be a metal that will be here for a while but will not last the test of time. A more up and coming metal is Titanium, the metal that lasts forever. Titanium is a hyper allergenic material that has some of the best qualities a metal could possibly have. Titanium is one of the hardest metals and lightest metals on the market. It brings a durable, lightweight and edgy look to anything that is created out of it. Titanium is one of the most unique metals the industry has seen and it will continue to grow.

Since the recent uprising of Titanium, it is a material that has found its way into many different uses and is hitting the wedding ring market. Titanium’s true qualities are what make the metal so special for those who chose it as a wedding band. Since it is nearly indestructible, Titanium will last a lifetime. It becomes a part of you and the metal will continue to hold up over time. It has been a unique choice for men who aren’t into the whole gold or platinum scene. Titanium is a much more affordable choice for many shoppers these days and can be combined with gold and platinum to still give a traditional and well rounded look. As Titanium continues to grow and be used in a wide variety of production you will not see the huge swings in price or the shortage of it when it counts the most. Lastly, Titanium is a metal that you will proud to wear and show off because it is just something different.

It is a material that is here to stay and will take its course amongst the greats but in the end will last forever.

Give Titanium a try. The qualities and elaborate designs offer something that is lightweight, rugged and in the end is much more affordable. Titanium wedding rings, bracelets and other designer trends can be found at www.titanium-buzz.com

Eco-Friendly Honeymoon Destiniations

Send Us Off HoneymoonIn the current world of rising oil prices, global warming and natural disasters, SendUsOff.com is promoting the opportunity for honeymooners to contribute to sustaining the environment. By its nature, travel can be both a chance for people to experience the extensive environments and cultures of the world while also adding to the damage of pristine regions and civilizations and the growing issue of carbon emissions. SendUsOff.com is promoting eco-friendly travel for couples by providing honeymoon registries that participate in the preservation and maintenance of the world’s natural and cultural wonders.

When SendUsOff.com Honeymoon Registry was launched, owners Joanna and Daniel Russo set out to create a clean, classy design without the clutter and ads not appealing to a wedding-oriented business. They strove to be a honeymoon registry for those seeking unique and exotic options. What they didn’t realize was how interested they would become in the couples’ journeys.

“We really want them to have their dream honeymoon that they will never forget,” said Joanna Russo. “But at the same time we hoped for our company to contribute to the world in a positive way.”

By being involved and helping the couples plan their honeymoons, they have been pleased to learn of a growing demand for an eco-friendly honeymoon.

“Many couples dream of a unique adventure in which they have the opportunity to become acquainted with an exotic part of the world and to give back to the environment or culture they are introduced to while still enjoying the ultimate in romance and luxury,” Joanna Russo said. “And we are pleased to play a part in helping that dream become a reality for them.”

SendUsOff.com has compiled research on environmentally friendly options available to honeymooners, such as staying in eco-friendly resorts, volunteering time to education and research projects, volunteering labor to maintenance efforts in protected ecological regions and areas affected by natural disasters, and making donations to carbon-offset services. Of course, few couples would want to give up their entire honeymoon vacation, which should certainly include an element of relaxation and pampering, but many would like to give a few days or even just an afternoon during their honeymoon.

In addition, the couple’s dream honeymoon destination does not have to be sacrificed. Almost any location chosen would have an opportunity for short-term volunteer work, and SendUsOff.com is happy to help find the perfect opportunity at their preferred destination. And, couples may choose to stay in eco-friendly resorts whether they volunteer time or not. Such resorts can be found all over the world that offer the same level of services, amenities and indulgences as any other resort; some are extremely extravagant while merely taking steps to respect the environment by recycling, having solar power or providing natural bath products and organic foods. They offer the same luxury accommodations, massages, room service and fine dining found at any top-level resort so honeymooners may have the romance they want while not having a negative impact on the environment.

The greatest benefit to couples of helping sustain the environment during their honeymoon is the additional bonding they may experience. Donating time together instills a feeling of pride and will lead to romantic nights discussing the work of the day over a candle-lit dinner. Memories will be created that will never fade of the very special honeymoon journey they went on together.

To learn more about eco-friendly honeymoon travel please visit SendUsOff.com for more information.

Bridal Greeting Cards by Paper Bride

paper-bride-thank-you-cards.jpgFeatured in the "aisle style" section of the winter issue of In Style Weddings as a favorite wedding planning accessory of Desperate Housewife star Marcia Cross, Paper Bride's new line of sassy wedding greeting cards and stationery continues to make a splash amongst chic brides-to-be.

Paper Bride broke new ground in the stationery industry early last year with their debut line of the first-of-its-kind collection of bridal greeting cards. Paper Bride's cards and postcards encourage brides to "thank outside the box" and are aimed at helping hip, young brides through their wedding planning process from start to finish with humor and style.

"I know I made you wear an ugly dress and matching shoes," starts off one card in Paper Bride's Wedding Party Collection, "but I'm so glad you could be a part of our special day." "I feel so lucky to add my name to your family tree" is another card from their Friends & Family collection that has been popular amongst brides who want to share their love and appreciation with their new families.

Paper Bride's collection also includes a Vendor Thank You box with cards to send thanks to photographers, florists and caterers, a Thank You box (featuring unconventional thank you messages such as "your gift rocked the hizzouse"), and a Bridesmaids box which includes a set of "will you be my bridesmaid" cards. Convenient postcard books are also included with "save the date" options and trendy engagement announcements that read "bling bling."

"It's such a joy for me to see Paper Bride embraced by so many brides who are looking to inject some sass and style into their own weddings," said owner and creator Erica Goldstein. " The recent success of our line has been wonderfully overwhelming and I was so flattered when Marcia Cross shared that she was also a fan of ours," continued Goldstein.

Newly engaged herself, Goldstein has been enjoying finally getting a chance to use her cards during her own wedding planning.

Paper Bride's line will continue to expand with the addition of an imprintable invitation collection that brides can use for rehearsal dinners, showers and bridal luncheons, a "will you be" collection that will help brides to ask their wedding party members to take part in the wedding and a stylish new line of wrapping papers.

Inspired by their former bride clientele who have gone on to become new moms, Paper Bride will continue to build upon its brand with the debut of their sister line, Paper Mama, at this year's National Stationery Show in New York's Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from May 21-24.

Visit PaperBride.com to view their full line of bridal greeting and thank you cards.

Wedding Photography and Planning Tips

Wedding Plan SecretsAs a major wedding planning and wedding photography supplier shuts its doors, what options do brides and grooms have now? Expert Wedding Planner Jane Martin of WeddingPlanSecrets.com offers some advice.

"The surprise closure of Kodak Weddings has left a big gap in the market. If you have already booked a photographer for 2006 you should be alright but new brides and grooms have to find another solution," says Jane.

Looking around at some of the up and coming websites, Jane recommends two sites that might offer some help in new and exciting ways.

Firstly, TotallyWeddings.com is a unique wedding planning service that puts those planning to get married in touch with a range of suppliers. What makes Totally Weddings different is that you give them details of the items you are looking for and they arrange for suppliers to contact you. This saves the stress and hassle of ringing or walking around from shop to shop.

As well as finding wedding venues, cake makers, dress shops, magicians etc., you can find a wide range of wedding photographers. You can even ask for a particular style of photographer you are looking for!

There is an interesting twist to this for those watching the pennies or who would like a special present for the family. Find a photographer who is willing to produce digital photos on a CD, and then visit Jane's next recommendation.

Cherish (www.cherishworld.co.uk) allows you to create your own hard-bound wedding album and professional mini-albums for the proud parents. You simply download their editor software, select the album type and add in your photos. When you have finished, push the button, pay and in less than 10 days you get a high quality wedding album back in the post.

Another idea is to collect your guests' digital photos and assemble them into a unique record of your big day. An easy thing to do that can create a very special reminder.

Wedding Reception Tips from Susan Southerland

susan-southerland-just-marr.jpgGoing from ordinary to extraordinary has been the goal of Susan Southerland, one of this country's top wedding planners and owner of Just Marry!, a wedding planning and designing company with locations in Savannah, Georgia, and Orlando and St. Augustine, Florida.

These days, the trend in weddings includes daytime receptions and themed celebrations. So says Susan Southerland in Bridal Guide, Mar/Apr 2006. If a traditional nighttime celebration isn't the right choice for your reception, Susan has some ideas that can help you think creatively.

Here are 10 Inspirational ideas for an OUT-of-the-ordinary, trend-setting receptions:

1. Sweet Surprises Dessert Reception -- If you love dessert, nothing would be sweeter than to invite your guests to join in a decadent dessert reception. Make sure you have your ceremony later than the regular dinner hour and be sure to indicate on your invitation that the reception is desert only. For something really special, have a chef attended cherries jubilee, bananas foster or crepes Suzette station. For a bit of whimsy, add a "make your own sundae" bar. Serve coffee, cappuccino, espresso and tea to accompany the desserts.

2. Sunny Side Up Breakfast Reception -- Are you an early riser? Celebrate your nuptials at sunrise and follow up with a breakfast reception. Traditional breakfast items can be supplemented with some fun "action stations" like omelet stations or pancake stations. Give oatmeal a new twist and have your chef create an oatmeal crème brulee.

3. "Small Plate" Reception -- Treat your guests to a multitude of different foods with a "small plate" reception. This type of menu may include six courses or more, all served in small portions. Begin with a demi-tasse cup of your favorite soup. Follow it up with a small appetizer course, small salad course, fish course and beef course. Finish it up with a cheese course and then dessert.

4. Brunch Bonanza Reception -- Brunch is a great way to showcase unusual and fun foods for your wedding. Put a twist on tradition with corned beef served over sautéed potatoes, eggs benedict with smoked salmon and spinach, and caramelized banana and mascarpone French toast. At the bar, Bloody Marys with an array of garnishes like horseradish, blue-cheese stuffed olives, and grilled scallops and shrimp. Add a splash of crème de cassis to champagne for a Kir Royale. Non-alcoholic drinks can include lemonade in sugar-rimmed glasses or iced tea with fresh mint.

5. Go Tropical Luau -- Start by greeting your guests with a Hawaiian Lei. Your decor should include tropical flowers like Birds of Paradise, Ginger and Orchids. Menu ideas are extensive from roasted pig to poi; lomi salmon to laulau. Your specialty drink -- Mai Tais. Hire Polynesian dancers and Tiki drummers for entertainment and suggest your guests wear casual beach attire so they can relax and enjoy the serenity of the islands.

6. Fabulous Fiesta -- A Mariachi Band or Flamenco guitar will likely get your guests dancing, and if that doesn't work Tequila cocktails certainly will. For the cocktail hour, have a salsa and guacamole bar. Offer your guests steamed shrimp, boiled egg, chopped red pepper, chopped cucumber, chopped tomato, chopped onion, diced chicken and tomatillos to customize their guacamole. Entrees can include traditional Mexican favorites from childhood like tacos and burritos, or you can go for upscale fare like Ceviche, or barbequed venison. Don't forget the Mexican Wedding Cookies!

7. Hot Hue Barbeque -- Guests will be delighted to celebrate your wedding with this fun-loving party. You can celebrate casually with traditional fare including ribs, chicken and potato salad, or dress up your barbeque with grilled tenderloin, chicken kabobs and grilled lobster tail. If you are in a location that permits fire pits, consider preparing s'mores for dessert and hire an old-fashioned storyteller for post dinner entertainment.

8. Now We're Cookin' Clam Bake -- This celebration would be perfect on the beach or on the loggia of a great resort overlooking the beach. A fabulous clam bake menu would include Fresh Steamed Little Neck Clams, New England clam chowder, Corn on the Cob, Grilled Steak and Barbecued Chicken and Boiled Lobsters.

9. Paint The Town Red Wine Pairing -- People are becoming savvier to wine and how it blends with food. Combine a bit of education with your wedding meal and hire a sommelier to work with your catering manager to create a perfect food and wine menu. Print a menu for your guests so they remember which wine they enjoyed. A great guest favor would be a bottle of wine from one of your courses.

10. Music To My Ears Entertainment Based Reception -- This reception is truly for the adventurous. Consider having a multi-course meal and change your entertainment with each course. For example, appetizer course with an opera singer, soup course with a jazz trio, salad course with acrobatic performers, entrée with a big band, dessert with string trio. After the formal dinner, switch to a high-energy band or DJ for a night of dancing
